Cheap, I guess. It is a pain to change from the old chev or the 1994 to the 1995, I drive for miles in 3rd gear, because the shift distance on the...

Huh. ‘95s have a cable that runs through the cab. Wouldn’t have guessed. Any thoughts why they did that? Sorry to hear about the HOA. MinE is still...

You should have researched HOAs, many sad or horror stories. I hope it is worth the suffering to please your wife.

My 1995 has a cable, but not the 1994. You can feel the cable through the carpet, it runs under the driver's feet and makes a loop under the drivers...

No cable, its all linkage to trans. You may be able to disconnect linkage to see if it is in fact in the trans or steering column.

My truck column shift arm moves freely but stays in park. Is it the shift cable? ? Can a non-mechanic make this repair or should I get it towed?
