Well new guy here on the forum. Totalled my old 97 last week in a pretty nasty accident...

Anyway, I love this style of truck and figure since i got a big block and a straight axle that was going into the 97, that ill build my dream truck the right way and take a couple years in doing so. I figured i wanted another truck but a diesel this time just for a DD and the towing and stuff i do...Don't wanna spend the money on a dmax or whathaveya, and for less then half the price it looks like i can get a 98 k3500 reg cab 4l80e with 100k on it. A few bucks here and there to address the common issues and it will be a great motor im certain. Anyway, drove the truck today and it appears to have some recent injection work done. Once i hear back from my insurance ill make an offer on it and probably pick it up next week.
Im kinda excited, while this truck doesnt have the grin factor of spinning through 3rd gear like my old 350 the 6.5 is a fairly new motor to me and im eager to see what i can make it do. I like how it builds a nice smooth torque curve, and while i wont go crazy with it, some of the basic stuff and a few goodies here and there to get it up to snuff with the new rigs will be outstanding. Plus its alot easier to build my dream truck with something decent for a DD.
