Hello everyone, I am a newby to this forum and owning a 6.5 diesel.
I bought a 2000 C/C,4x4 dually about a year ago. I have been working on it ever since, new head gaskets some injectors, fsd kit.I new it had some problems when I bought it,but I was driving one day and it started knocking and quite running. Now when I start it momentarily it sounds like a bearing is out in the pan.The problem I am having is It only has 43,000 miles on it,but GM won't warrenty anything because it has a rebuilt title. Now I knew it had been wrecked and rebuilt and was smoking white which is usually antifreeze so here I am back at what to do now.I wrote Walt about a rebuild or new does anyone know a way to get GM to go ahead and warrenty this before I pour in more money. I"am open to any advice?

Hi Motorman !

I'm from Germany, so a little bit far qway to help you directly, but if you could specialise your prob (the knocking) a bit more we could try to circle in the cause. Is the sound the same at different RPM or is it a getting fast knocking if you raise the RPM ? There could be a lot of reasons where the sound comes from. Crankshaft bearings, pistons bearings, injectors ...

Sven

I'm far from knowledgeable on diesels but I thought I had a rod going one time. It was making a horrible noise and it ended up being water in my fuel. Maybe you could be as lucky. I use Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube in every tank now and haven't had the problem again.

Hey all,Thanks for the replys.I am planing on seeing how much trouble it is to pull the pan off then go from there. I'am sure it won't be something easy, but you can't ever tell.
