Hello Everyone. My wife is driving the truck and then all of a sudden truck dies and turns off. When she puts it in park and goes to start it, no gauges illuminate. Not even the glow plug light. So I thought it was a fuse for the gauges or something, but couldn't figure it out. After craking it for a while it will turn on, but as soon as you move the gearshifter it turns dies. It will only crank in the Park postion, has never cranked in Netrual. Could it possibly be the saftey netraul switch?

Alrighty i towed it home and checked every single fuse with a test light. The inside fuses all have power. The guage fuse seems to have very very little power as it barley lighst the tester. On the fuse box outside my 4 fuses closes to the front of the truck have no power whatsoever even with the truck key to the on postion. However, they are grounded And i know this because if i connect my tester light to the positive, and touch the fuses it will produce light. the 4 fuses that I think have the clue to my problem are the

(20-a) Fuel Sol (20-a) ECM-1 (20-a) ENG-1
(10-a) Glow Plug

when you say ignition switch you refer to the little switch mounted on the steering colum under dash that has the wires plugged into it from the ignition lock cylinder and up there correct?

i tried and ran power from the battery directly to those fuses that are not getting power but they grounded and short out and start smoking. So thats not going to work. would the switch cause those switches to short out?

Look at my email to you to eliminate the posibilities of short circuit.
