manual wast gate

what is a manual wast gate ,how dose it work ,is the boost adjustabal, i want more boost :eek: or do i need a boost/fule controler i am going to buy 4 in exaust but if i could chang the boost even just a litel bit for now ?

Manual waste gate is basically a preloaded spring that opens the wastegate when the exhaust exerts a certain amount of pressure on the wastegate. The spring holds it shut until said pressure is reached then the wastegate sort of "blows" open to bleed off turbo speed and therefore boost. Confusing enough?
I like my manual wastegate controller. I am actually making LESS total boost than stock, but it is steadier and I think really helped the driveability of my truck. Also not near as troublesome to troubleshoot. And yes, it is adjustable by tightening up a nut that controls spring tension.

i went to the site and they said on the electronick trucks the manual boost cont is not needed all you need is there $600 chip ,that i owould rather get frome walt (price i rounded up):eek:

my boost control seem to work really well boost is at 14 psi no codes and good power does it just give you better throttle response being manual?

Anybody ever try to port the flapper on the hot side of the turbo to gain more psi.
