My Burb's got 4.10's and i would like to see if i can drop that down for a bit better gas economy. It is a 4wd so i cant just swap in a new rear axle. however i was wondering if anybody has ever heard of a system where hi low speed case is installed inline after the transfer case. I figure that the times when i would want a lower gear ratio are also the times when i would want to be in 2wd. if i could get a system which allows me to operate with the rear gear ratio being equal to the 4.1 that it is now, or to have it be aproxiatly equal to 3.73.

Thanks

www.gearvendors.com is the best unit I used to have one on my 85 3/4 ton with 4:10 gears it worked great and has a lockout for 4 wheel drive

It is possible but very pricey.

WOW, very pricey, it might be cheaper to change gear ratios on both front and rear axles.
