in one of the threds i asked about were to get an ecm (aftermarket)flash but i cant remember the thread, so im looking for info on it ,thanks guys:confused:

and it can be done on trucks as old as say a 95 - 96 ??????:confused: i have never heard of a truck older than a 99 being reprogramed !? but you lern new things every day,the guy i work whith says after 4 years in the busnes he knows every thing there is to know ! i am ASE cretified and been doing this for 20 years and i dont know it all ,and i like to lern new things, mabe to day i will learn how to spell learn:D :D

'93 -> got no ECM, manual controlled IP

'94 & '95 -> you can replace the chip only (just "clicked" in), but need the code which is printed on it before ordering like "BRMM"

'96 -> you have to reflash or replace the ecm with a reflashed one.

The vendors i posted above sell both the simple chip for the 1994/1995 models and the reflashed ecm for the 1996 and younger.

wow thats cool:cool: i have a 96 :D see itys good to lern some thing new every day ! yesterday i lerened that if you dont have youre admissions tiket with you you cant get in to an ASE test dident i feel like an ass 50mi frome home whith out it , i wasted $60 by forgeting that ticket:mad:

So you will need a reflashed ECM. Normally you buy a new one, pay it with a core charge and get it. Put in your truck, after removing your old stock ECM. Than you have to send your old one back to the seller and get your core charge back.
