Run the block heater for about 4 hrs before starting. Then it should be easier.
Look into the manual. There is a note, that you should use the block heater below temperatures 32° F or 0° C.
25°F is below. :-))

Block heaters (I have duals) save on engine wear as well. Synthetic oil is a big help as well if you live in the tundra like I do.:)

if your block heater is bad, replace it. also since you gotta drain the coolant, change that too. If you didnt want to put a new one in the block, where the stock one goes, you could get an aftermarket one from parts store and just splice it into LOWER radiator hose. still gotta drain coolant though. Once its below freezing, you really need to plug in the block heaters to get these IDI engines to start.

im going to replace it soon but i dont have a free second at the moment , so for now i got a can of starting fluid (i know it isent good for it but i havent had to use it yet ) its weard i have been pluging it in any way and it seems to start easyer but it has been some what warmer the past few days!, it dose seem to start easyer when it is pluged in ! but it shoes no signs that the block heater is working not even a slitely warm hose and when i put my multimeeter on the plug it dosent show a circit!!!

No circuit is bad ! Replace it asap and you will recognize the difference. If i plug mine in, i will hear a little noise from the area, where the heater is. Same noise as boiling water. After pluged in for about 2 hrs. the upper hose from the radiator to the thermostat is warm.

If you use quick start, have someone crank the engine while you spray a small amount in to avoid engine damage, don't spray then crank, causes damage.

if you sray the starting fluid into the air filter it wolnt hurt any thing it takes about 10 seconds of cranking to get it there ,all you have to do to use it is wate for the glow plugs to turn off ,if not you will end up not only buning up the either but allso the glow plugs them selves ,it gets them so hot that they just bend over and the they wolnt come out ! but aparently my block herter dose work ! whith out it it wolnt start whith out either when it is below like 35 degres last night i pluged it in ,said a prayer and this morning it started whith out a problem (18 degrese ) but the block heater dosent seem to be working as well as it should , you guys tell me about clean hoods and icy trucks allmost instant heat , 10 min after i start the truck the heat is just at best luke warm

One only heats one side of the block. I have had two on mine in the past, one on either side (1000 watts each). They worked really well. I have since switched over to using a circulating heater 1500 watts) a better way to warm the entire engine!

How do you replace a block heater anyways? Ive never been able to get freeze plugs to come out. ever! a block heater is bound to fit in the block just as tight. And with the engine in the truck still id think it would be nearly impossible.
