One or two bad Glow plugs would make it do that..... do you plug in block heater when cold? Do you see white smoke when that happens?
If you do a search on glow plugs or hard starting you will get a lot of info on this.....

Ya it does this even if pluged in and yes there is white smoke. Truck will not starr if not pluged in below - 15 ......

Either a glow plug issue or your injectors need replaced. A worn injector wont spray as nice as a new one and thus isnt as easy for the fuel to ignite. I doubt they are worn enough to produce just a stream, but for the purposes of an example lets say stream. A fuel spray will ignite tons easier than a fuel stream. So it'll take a minute to get everything hot enough to ignite. The white smoke is the raw fuel that didnt get hot enough to burn.

is there any way to test plow plugs to see if they are burnt out or failing or is it simply just start by replacing the glow plugs then injectors. The truck has 318 000km

that would be alot of miles (i only know miles idk the kms to miles conversion) and if the injectors are original that would likly be the problem Theyre supposed to be replaced every 100k. You can test the glow plugs by unhooking them and then connecting one end of a test light to the positive terminal on either battery and then touching the end of the meter to the terminal of each glow plug. If it doesnt light up, that plug is bad.

Ah. Mines got around 225k on it and it definantly needs injectors too. Im just sorta poor right now. Local shop wants $26 per injector and then 300 for labor. I may try doing the injectors myself. For $500 i could put in some new marine injectors.
