Anybody know how to make a tranny shift quicker? I made a boost controller, and have a Afe intake and it feels like the turbo winds up so fast the tranny cant keep up.I have to back off before it hits redline and coherse it into shifting. It has a banks chip in it. Is the comp[uter just not chipped for that kind of response?

If you got SSD's chip its supposed to fine tune the transmission shifting already. A slow shifting transmission maybe a sign of upcoming failure.

I was afraid you would say that. My tranny is shuttering in reverse is that the torque converter going or is that reverse?

I'd say get a new torque converter, then rebuild the tranny with a TransGo shift kit.... It'll last forever, hold more power than your 6.5 could ever throw to it and rattle your teeth in the process! :D

The shifts might snap your neck in the process tho :D

When the trans pump is sick, reverse is the one that suffers first.

I'm starting to work on building one with a performance shop here. I'll come out a whole lot cheaper than a new one , thanks for the input!

Indirect cluches could be bad. I put super heavy (way overkill, think they boxed the shift kit wrong) indirect clutch springs in my mine. shudders in reverse till you step on the throttle just a touch, then it takes off. PITA backin a trailer around. but in forward, its like a rocket, no slip and super smooth shifts, almost cant feel the tranny shift. Shift kit claimed that the weakest link in the tranny is the indirect clutches. Mine outta the old tranny were toast, all the rest were good yet. But my torque converter was toast too.
