I've got a 95 C2500, and haven't had any problems recently with anything.. Last week I started my truck at work, drove across the airport and back and shut it off at about 300. At 430 I walked back out there and it would just crank.. no fire.. I let it sit for a while and tried again and no fire... After about 10 trys and 30+ minutes later I had no batt power left.. Hooked up the battery cart from work.. Just 2 RV batteries in parallel about 1400 amps.. It started right up!
Worked fine till Yesterday, when at about 300 drove across the airport, shut it off to unload, started to go back to the hanger and it died almost immediately.. then i tried to start and it started and then immediately died.. about 5 times.. then start and stayed running so I started driving and it died with no refire!! Towed it back across and still no re fire.. I'm pretty sure it's the PMD but could it also be the lift pump or Injector pump?? I'm headed back out to work today to try and drive it home but don't really want to if it's gonna die while driving.. It's 13 miles of backroad 2 lane 55 mph up and down mountain roads!! No pull offs!!

I'm planning on buying a heatsink and new PMD but what else should I order and where should I mount the new PMD?? Thanks
Robert

I would check your charging system and batteries,if your voltage goes low,
it could cause your problem. You may want to check your fuel relay as well.
A good time to check the voltage is when the problem occurs.Otherwise,
go to work earlier,It does not like 300,;)

check your batts. if one is bad you wont have enough juice to keep all the electronics working. Check your cable connctions and grounds too.

I used to have a problem with my truck not wanting to start when it had been run for a little while and the ambient temperature was warm. I replaced the lift pump and ops and it still gave me some problems. Ends up my starter was getting weak and once it was replaced I had no more problems. Also as far as the pmd location, heath sells a kit that includes everything to relocate it, cooler, and new pmd. It also includes a 7 year warranty. I know its not a ssdiesel product, but I have one of each, and I have to say the 7 year warranty is pretty awsome insurance that It wont go bad again.

I ordered a new PMD, cooler and extension harness!! Hopefully that'll do it... With the starter thing.. it cranks over very quickly when it has a charged battery.. I hadn't started it in a few days and when out there and tried starting it and it cranked slow cause it was cold, and it kicked over and started running.. It'll run great for hours and all of a sudden it won't start at all. I drove it home 2 days ago and it ran great all the way here. Shut it off walked away for 5 minutes and walked back and it didn't start at all!! We'll see what the PMD does for it for now!!

Batts shouldnt lose much charge in a couple days. are you sure 1 of your batts isn't droppin out? 1 bad batt in one of these trucks will do some strange things. 1 bad batt in my truck had me scrathinn my head. Kept good voltage but not under a load. load tested bad. Mine would crank fast, fast as with 2 new 1000 cca batts in it, but not have the voltage to operate any electronics, fuel shutoff solenoid and such. Once it would start ran fine. Most any parts store will check, including load test, for free. With how you explained it, i would get them checked out. Just my thoughts though. Good luck.
