1ST OFF y'all been great, thoughrly enjoy the forum and helpful advise and info posted, no bull about it:) my ques, moms got a 2000 subaru impreza with 2.2 liter. only 13,000 miles, always run 10w-30 snythetic mobil 1, change every 3,000 miles or 6 months. no leaks, runs great. today i drained oil, spun off oil filter, put new oil in, spun on new filter, started and checked for leaks. defective [?] oil filter [FRAM], oil blowing right by gasket, stopped engine with 1 qt left in pan. got new filter & 4.25 qts. drained remaining oil, put new filter on, put 4qts in. started up, no leaks. stopped engine and checked dip stick. no oil on stick:confused: no oil in coolant recovery tank or in radiator , radiator is still full of clean coolant, motor runs good, no idiot light on for low oil, wish it had a oil press guage, dip stick goes in and down with no resistance, cleaned all oil off my floor, put car outside, checked dip stick still dry with one clean drip at tip. tomarrow after work, i'm going to drain it to make sure 4 clean uncontaminated qts come out. anyone got any ideas what else i should look for?
