my truck has been acting up lately,it runs fine and every once in a while it just shuts off, it will start right back up and run fine. today the truck was fine until i went to stores to do some last minute shopping and it wouldnt start.had plenty of cranking power but it wouldnt fire up,i did notice the glow plug light didnt stay on that long. it did finally start after leting it crank for a while, truck has about 140 thousand on it, it has a new injection pump,relocated the pmd,i just put a new waste gate solenoid on it yesterday,any help would be great,thanks everybody and have a merry christmas

Truck Has Been Fine For A Few Days, Had A Tech Hook Up A Scanner To It And There Are No Codes,im Just Not Sure What Would Just Make The Truck Shut Off While Driving,

Check to make sure you are getting power to the lift pump from your oil pressure switch. Don't be like me and think it cant be that because you changed it recently. If you are getting power check to make sure the lift pump is working. These two items can make these motors do all kind of wierd things when they are not working.

I had the same problem, it turned out to be the oil pressure sending unit, even though it takes out the lift pump the truck will sometimes run with risidual fuel supply and sometimes pressurize the fuel tank, you can jumper out the OSU by putting a paper clip across the 2 outside leads and you should with your key on hear the lift pump pumping.

i changed my ops and truck still had the same problems,i had my injection pump changed in june of 06 and i guess the shop changed my pmd,they gave me a spare one in a box,i have the relocation setup from ss diesel and i took off the pmd and it wasnt the one with the #9 resistor, sp i looked in the box and there was the pmd i installed with the kit,well truck has been running great since friday.thanks guys for all the info.
