Anybody running 285/75/16's on a stock height or front leveled Suburban?
I'm running 265/75/16's now and it looks like there's plenty of room, but a local 4x4 shop says the 285's will rub.
Also, anyone have suggestions on non-stock 16x8/9 steel wheels?

I'm running 285/75/16 BFG All-Terrain in my K2500 truck with a 3" Rancho Suspension Lift and the torsion bars full cranked. No problems with - BUT to rub or not to rub will depend on which tire you'll put on (BFG, Pirelli, General, ...) AND which rim do you take. I got 8x16 Alcoca wheels on with the negative backspace they have, it would rub without the liftkit. IF you take other rims with not so much negative backspace like mine, they should fit without any problems. (for example: If run put the tires on stock rims, there won't be a problem with rubbing, but it won't look good, because of the small wide or the stock rims.)

Hey Sven,
There are some good deals on real estate in the US right now. How is the $/mark ratio?

I'm running 285x75-16 as well. No rubbing. Summer rims are 285x50-20 - also no rub as they are almost exactly same height/diameter.
After reading post by Chevylover, I must admit that I don't know for sure, if my truck has been lifted a little bit before I bought it... I didn't lift it anyway. :o

Mark ? Sorry, no Deutsche Mark anymore. Most states in europe got a common currency now called EURO €.
The ratio Euro to Dollar today is :
1 Euro € = 1,47 US Dollar $
1 US Dollar $ = 0,68 Euro $

The canadian dollar to euro ratio is not much better or worse.
1 Euro € = 1,44 CAD $
1 CAD $ = 0,69 Euro €

Still waiting and hoping that VW will pay another comensation in 2008 as they did in 2006. If they do, my wife, kids and me will sell everything (house, truck, cars, caravan, furniture and so on) and move to canada or the usa. Depends on green card/working permit or a simple job.
I'm no longer interested in living in germany.
Sorry, but living in germany -> crap²
I'll let you know, if, when and where.

I've looking into how difficult it would be to get a greencard as a self-employed man. Not too bright I might add :-) ..unless you already have the big bucks rolling.
Compared to the US, is it "easier" to get a green card in Canada ?
Or are the rules very similar.
Have been thinking about moving for some time now, but things allways seem to keep me here ;-)

Compared to the USA, immigration to canada is very easy ! You need a job and than you could get the allowance to stay until you got the job. After two years you can stay without restriction.
