Polaris had one years ago. I tried to buy one the last year they were made ('94-95??) and all the salesman did was try to talk me out of it. "they are too heavy, they are too slow, they are noisy,"
I finally told him, Look I don't want to run 70mph across the pasture while pulling a wheelie, I want it to be heavy enough to push a little, and noise? Did you see what I drove up in? (95 6.5TD). Plus why not have something that will burn the farm diesel I already have?
None of that mattered, they couldn't get one anyway and then Polaris discontinued them.
Sometimes I get tired of folks trying to talk me out of stuff....Especially when they have no idea of my intentioned use (tool not toy)
Sorry for the rant.... Yeah, I would love a diesel 4 wheeler for the ranch.

Try looking at John Deere. I think they have diesels in their ATVs.

The Kubota RTV series is tops in my book. Durable, darn near unbreakable.

My neighbor has an RTV900 and it is just plain sweet.

but the rtv isent a 4 whealer this is a traditional 4whealer or as some call it a quad , as it is a utility machine it is not as wide and usless in the trails as the rtv and other modified golf cars, it is mor comperabal to the grizley, preire , or the sportsman:cool:

I ran across the perfect "RTV". I bought an '86 Bronco II 4x4. Very plain, never had A/C, power nothing except steering. Thing looks like Hell, but its not much wider than the Kubota, has a windshield, a heater, and I can drive it to work. Also it will go just about anywhere I want it to go on my property. And did I mention it cost less than a 1/4 of a new Kubota RTV.

Yeah, I'm not much on swimming with it anyway. It may not have as much articulation as some other stuff, but it gets the job done.
