about a week ago I noticed that my anti-lock brake pump was being activated when I was slowing down and hitting small bumps in the road, not in lock-up situation. Shortly after this I noticed burning smell then I lost power windows, radio, heater fan and abs warning light came on. basically I now have a dead short in the truck somewhere , it blows the big 50 amp fuseable in under hood junction box, this link supplies power to just about everything, but I think the prob. originated in the ABS system as it was acting up , has anyone seen something common, maybe a spot where the harness rubs against something or gets pinched? any help would be great. I dont want to have to start pulling the who;e harness apart......this is a 1997 GMC k2500 x-cab slt 6.5 auto

its fixed, as usual the problem was due to poor aftermarket installation work, alarm system was scotch clipped into ign. harness at bottom of dash by steering shaft, scotch clip had popped open and was shorting to bracket that lower a/c duct is attached to, I removed alarm system and taped and secured harness, all set now

Sometimes a little thing can cause BIG problems ! These scotch locks/clips are great, until the fell off or popp open. If I use them, I always tape the lock.
