Propane, NOS, Water injection, more fuel. Everything can be "hard" on an engine. It depends on how it is used: how often and how hard.
I don't think judicious use of propane will hurt a 6.5 any more than a heavy right foot.

I heard a lot of mixed comments about propane injection on a 6.5, mostly negative although I don't know anyone that has it installed on thier pickup.
