So, i have a 1996 k2500 6.5, Only thing i have really done to it is put bigger wheels on it with 5"stacks, new glow plugs and alternator, what should i plan on doing to it? I wanna get the cold air intake, lift, the chip upgrade and some other little motor upgrades, and triple pillar gauges what would you guys suggest :)?

exhaust is just as important as the intake which should be the first things that you do .Gauges after the chip then add the fan upgrade

Garth sold me on the exhaust as well....cmon mail man! So you have stacks...Intake, chip, tranny shift enhancer is what you can consider if on a budget. Gauges are great and all but are only a true must have item if you tow. Alot of options out there, I looked everywhere for performance. Instead I decided to sink my loot into maintenance first. HMMM have you swapped out your PMD? I would go through the motions of common fail items before jumping into beefing up power. Thats me, often times beefing up too much power leads to quicker trips to the mech.

haha thanks guys, yeah im with you on that i wanna fix some minor things and replace the items that are soon to go bad, one more quick questions, how do you get the big bad black smoke like the dodges are putting out ;) is that just a higher air fuel ratio?

black smoke is unburned fuel or overfueling which is the same thing

ahh i see so now once i put the marine injectors in and the cold air intake i would create more smoke?

you will need more than just the marine injectors. Your injection pump will still be putting out the same amount of fuel. The #9 resistor will let the inj pump flow more fuel at WOT.

I think the black smoke you are refering to is from IP advanced timing. Some of the brands of performance upgrades (not to mention any names) have different modes and one will cause a lot of black smoke. Often used for the common tailgater. Advancing the IP timing gives black smoke retarding it gives white smoke. At least from what I know of, putting in the #9 resistor will give you some at WOT due to richening it up not advancing the timing. If anyone has any corrections please speak up because I am still learning...
