I just finished replacing the oil cooler lines. I noticed that they are made to wrap around teh exhaust in order to bolt in. I was wondering if anyone has attempted to build some sort of shield around the exhaust to protect the lines and oil filter?

I've just replaced my oil cooler lines & cooler w/unit from DSG. In the areas where lines run near exhaust, block and oil pan, I used black heat shield wrap to keep heat off the lines & out of the oil. This stuff is expensive, but I could,nt fine a better way myself. This wrap is available at auto zone & advance auto in my area. It seemed to work for me, but I hated to cover those pretty stainless steel lines! Hope this will give you some ideas.
