I have used these guys a few times have been very happy with there parts and service. Fast shipping. Cali to OH in 2-3 days.

TransParts
e-mail transparts@pacbell.net

If you search ebay for 'nv4500' they will come up. They are in Cali so look for that in the distance . That is they easiest way to find them there.

they also have an ebay store.
seller name acerl.

I dont have their phone number with me but I can get it after I get home and post it tonite. (5:00 pm EST)

quad 4x4, some off road shop in Montana, they only use NV parts, claim that the synchros are of special material, and many suppliers use the wrong material.

Rockland Standard Gear, also known as RSG. they are pretty big into trannys, build race trannys, make their own fluid, etc. they are in a few magazines, and there was a buildup in Four Wheeler, they used RSG. We got some of our parts from RSG (not the important ones, dumbass instructor from our Vo-Tech used "his source" some no-name outfit nobody has heard of) and we were happy with the ordering process, speed of delivery, quality, etc. IIRC, they are the only New Venture authorized distributor/rebuilder in USA.

there is a parts shortage since NV quit production of NV4500, in fact, I don't think they are building any trannys for the big three, just t-cases, IIRC

I finaly found a complete NV4500 from a supplier in New Hampshire, a bit pricey @ $1300 plus $200 core and tax. But it was worth it. Also had the transfer case rebuilt and installed new LUK clutch. Next upgrade is a Posi Lock

good for you!

We are kicking ourselves now, when we ordered parts from RSG, they had one GM gas 2wd NV4500 left. BRAND NEW New Venture closeout price 1500 bucks. we have over a grand in ours, and it doesn't shift well, and it leaks oil. thank you Vo-Tech. we really should've bought that tranny, it was gone when we called back a couple of weeks later.

Sorry to hear your bad luck with the vo-tech. I went thru vo tech, obviously not the one you had rebuild your tranny, And most of us held high standards of work. Instructor was verry particular. If he felt the students were just there to waste time, the didnt get get much more than their own vehicle to tear up. I dont know what circumstances surrounded your particular case, but in our vo tech shop, the job wouldn't leave untill 100% satisfied, instructor and customer.

My Dad attended a Vo-Tech that sounds quite similar to the one you went to. hThe instructors stressed that there will be no comebacks. it will be done right the first time. They were always on the floor, and when someone did something wrong, they called EVERYONE over and asked "what is so and so doing wrong" it was embarassing, but one never made that mistake again.

We thought that all Vo-Techs were like that, but not so. Ours is pathetic. Won't do what they are told at all.

neighbor has a K100 KW cabover w/ twin turboed(from factory!!!) 855 cummins backed up by an allison 5 spd. he rebuilt the motor himself, and harvest was fast approaching, so he left the truck with Vo-tech to check out the allison. they checked pressures, etc. said all was good. he also asked them to put in a tranny temp guage 9which he had already bought, and it was in the cab. The truck came back driving fine, but the guage never got hooked up, and they lost all the dash screws.

And, he thought they did good on the tranny, but he found out this year (he bought it last year) that 3rd gear has been out since he bought it. that is one key detail the vo-tech should've figured out!

This bunch is also known for other little crud, Versatile Tractor w/ 903 Cummins V8, they sheared off a head bolt, no instructor saw/inspected it, and it left with a broken head bolt.

the local farmers have steadily quit bringing equipment in because of this little stuff.

OK off Rant.
on the NV, that Quad4x4 outfit has a nifty filter that takes the place of a PTO cover.

Also, there is another outfit that is popular w/ the off road mags. it is Gear Tech Heavy Duty

www.geartechhd.com (http://www.geartechhd.com)

they have a PTO cover that is deep, for added capacity, and it is finned and made of aluminum for heat disapation. it comes w/ and autometer guage.

just thought everyone would like to know about the upgrades.(and our crappy Vo-Tech!:D )
