Getting near completion of putting my Pillar Gauge Pod in. Got my Boost in. Just about done my Pyro. Now I am going to get started on my transmission temp. Am I supposed to remove the pan and tap a hole in it for my sending unit? There doesn't seem to be any other location that I can put it. I know that there are guys that have got these on their trucks out there, where do I place it? I am kind of stumped, or is it something so easy that I am overlooking it?

You can drop pan, but I wouldn't trust just tapping the sheet metal pan, you would want to use a drain instal kit like B&M's. It is a hollow bolt sort of thing that you drill and install, and it has a plug in it. Looks to me to be the right size for most senders. i just put one in for a pan drain. There is a test port in the tranny, that is the right size for the sender. I never looked for it yet, but it is supposed to be right above where shift linkage goes into tranny. remove the plug and screw in sender, easy as that.....

I`ve been told you can`t tap the pan so i`v put in the same place as in th diagram sven sent and as Grath said "it worked for me" just take off the shifter and remove the plug it`s at the back you wont lose any oil...

Great tip.....with trailering season here. Last year a guy went blasting past me towing a big trailer on a hot day into a headwind. I catch up to him in 5 minutes stopped by the side of the road with smoke coming from under his hood. He had apparently boiled the oil in his tranny and it had come up the filler tube and overflowed all over his exhaust. Looked pretty bad but he let'er cool off and got back underway.
