What is the largest size tire I can fit inside the wheel wells of a 3/4 ton gmc p/u without lifting it? I am currently running 265/70R16's and have my torsion bars tightend up so my truck sits dead level.

some people say 265, some say 285. Most things I have read say that 285's are fine even though they rub just a tad, but not enough to worry about.

I am running 285-75r16 on new style alum. wheels. I had to trim lower flare and notch fender. it is unnoticable unless I point it out. I also trimmed some off the lower bumper and air dam. It is tight with the wheel turned and under compression. Cranked torsion bars to level truck and did alighnment after.
