Replaced orig alternator 9/8 due to 11 volt charge rate at speed and idle. Got rebuilt Delc from Chevy dealer. After install, dash guages indicate good 14volt at speed and idle. As of 8/12 am with aprox 500 mls, instrument guage shows 16 volt at speed and battery warn lite on. Plug in battery/alt guage shows 16.5-17volts at speeds of 35+, 13.5 at idle. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just replace the regulator, they don't last, mine has had about 5 rebuilt alternators, then the last a new one just before I bought the Burb. It failed 3000 miles later, was the regulator, bought it at an expensive place here, $18
Don't keep driving it like that, it will cook the batteries!!!
