Sometimes When Starting Up A Hill Or With Even A Light Load The Truck Will Hickup, The Power Shuts Off For About A Quarter Second Or So, Is This Engine? Pmd? Or Trans.??? Any Input Would Help. No Trouble Codes.

Ive had the same problem with my truck since it was new. It does that hickup once in awhile. I put a new pump in last month and a new pdm it still does it. I just live with it now. I also got no codes. How many miles are on your truck.

I had a stumble in my 2000 K3500 srw when I got on it. It felt just like a bad spark plug wire wait a minute! we don't have spark plug wires do we? But it felt like one! I checked my lift pump pressure at the "T" handle valve by the T/stat housing. I was pulling about 4" of vac. not 3-5 lbs pressure. I had 12 volts and a ground at the lift pump. But the pump did not run(this is the pump on the inside of the left frame rail under the drivers feet) I ordered a lift pump from SSDiesel. put it on, no more stumble Just like new plug wires! OOh Yaa we don't use those things!!! Good Luck!

another thing to check it the valve between your turbo intake and the valve cover. this is there to provide vaccum to the motor and help heat the engine but if it goes out it lets oil by when the turbo spools up and as you know our trucks will run on many things including engine oil. this has also been the cause of surging and sputtering like if someone was feathering the throtle.

I had a real similar hickup or sputter, up hills or under hard acceleration, I checked everything, I had low pressure at the bleeder by the thermostat housing, so I replaced the lift pump, pressure was a little better but still would hickup. Then I dropped my fuel tank and the filter on the pickup looked a little dirty, I cleaned it and poof, no more hickup. good luck
