my print out says the pcm has determined that the input voltage from fuel temperature sensor A is higher than the calibrated limit indicating a LOWER than normal temperature. i dont have any kind of take heater on the rig. do you think that because i did away with my egr it would start doing this? the egr has been gone for quite some time now and it just started this recently.

Hey Nathan. The heater referred to is in the bottom of the fuel filter housing. Its function is to prevent gelling in the filter element. It was really cold the past few days, (Manhattan, KS and Lincoln, NE aren't that far apart) and evidently your ECM has determined that the fuel isn't warming sufficiently (heater element going/gone). For precise troubleshooting for the heater element (resistance through the element, etc) contact Walt at SSDS for tech assistance. As cold as it's been the last few, nothing kills a diesel faster than a waxxed-up fuel system. All it takes is one tanke of non or poorly winter blended fuel and your dead. Always use a good anti-gel in the winter such as Howe's. I failed to do it last winter every tank, and sure enough, the one tank I didn't from the truck stop was straight #2, not blended due to the diesel shortage. Waxxed up in the line along the frame rail the next morning (-6DF) about 4 miles from it died on the way to work. Good luck.
