Is there any special trick to bleeding these ABS systems? I put a new Master Cylinder on my truck and I can't seem to get all the air out. ABS light stays on and I have a spongy pedal (which I take to mean I still have air in the system). Am I missing something?
I still think it is air because I can pump the brakes up really good and the ABS light will go out for a bit.

you need to do a abs bleed with a scan tool the rebleed the system that will help get it all out. If you dont have acess to a scan tool get the abs to activate then rebleed.

Ok, I figured I'd get into the ABS computer at some point. It can't just be simple, can it?
Thanks

open bleeder, have someone push the pedal to the floor once and hold, close bleeder.do that a couple times at each wheel

On my 85 gasser i had to jack rear of truck up to level the master cyl, then get each bleeder to gravity bleed to get the air out. IF master cyl is pointed "up" the high point could cause an air pocket to stay in master. This was the only application i had this problem. Took two days and 3 new masters and finally this procedure to get to bleed. Normally just use the pedal and power bleed the system, start with the farthest from the master. Good luck.
