I think I killed my truck. I blew an oil cooler line didn’t realize what was going on till it shut down on me and I had two gallons of Rotela all over the highway. It shut down at addle and the engine wasn't real warm. It vibrated real bad and finally shut down. I hit the key to see if it would turn over and it did but I didn’t re-start it. I replaced the oil lines and re-filled the Rotela but the engine will not turn over for nothing. It seems to be locked up. Did I kill it?

I removed the glow plugs and harmonic balancer and tried to turn it with a breaker bar with no results. I’ve got a Duramax to fall back on but I gota have my 97 rolling again.

I had this same problem with my truck.Lost the oil cooler lines cranked it just to see if it would still go,cranked over hard but did crank over.I fixed the oil lines and nothing but a click, after trying to turn the motor over by hand was no success,I decided to swap out motors.
While unbolting the starter i here a click, well the starter was stuck engaged making it impossible to turn the motor over, after a new starter and a few hours putting back everything i already took apart for the swap it ran fine. This happend about 80,000 miles ago and i'm still running strong.
