Hi, im new to the forum, and just recently aquiring my 6.5 K1500 a month ago, was searching the web for performance products for my new baby.
The question: I currently have a 3" body lift kit, with 33 inch tires. If i wanted to run 37" BFG all terrain T/A's would i need a 4" or 6" susp. lift?

The body lift is solely for the larger tires of course, so it is really a matter of preference, I say 4 inch suspension lift, but thats me. Going bigger is more money for one and requires alot more TLC and maintenance, depending on how you drive it too. 6 is freakishly huge for me, but I have to keep a good profile for narrow dirt roads in my neck of the woods.

if you keep you body lift on you might be able to fit them with the 4 inch. ive seen 36" on a 1500 chev with a 3" body and a 4" susp. I have also seen a 1500 chev with a 3" body lift and a 6" susp with 37" Boggers on it. The truck was HUGE!! lol like im about 5' 10" and i cant see in the window. With your 3" body lift you CAN 35" tires. barely but they fit. I had them on my 97 gas jobby, now im gonna put a 3" body and 35" on my 6.5. It looks GOOD. not to high where its hard to get in but high enuf to chew through alot of stuff. Well i hope this helps you out.

hah right on. i have been researching about body lift with diesels, so far only the foreigners have tried to tackle this lol.
i ordered a 3" body lift, over summer im saving up for a dick cepek 6.5" suspension (a true 6.5", not the "6" inch that is just 4, where you have to crank the torsion bars for the extra 2) and my uncle says i have room for 40" tires!! i cannot afford 40 inch tires tho... :P so im going with most likely some DC-1 16x12 rims, and some 38" trXus STS tires. i hope the rims have enough back spacing...

I'd say you can get away with 4" my best friend only has a 2" body lift and he has 35" tires.
P.S. if your 33's are in good cond. and you want to get rid of them I'm looking to get some.
