I removed the TLA today, put connections together put shifter in 4wd high with key on. TLA extended appox 1" appears to work. You can push it back with minimal pressure and it then extends again. With key off and shifter in 2wd it retracts. When drained, gear oil little over 2 qts , and clean with very little amount of metal specks. When TLA was out i pushed a metal rod in housing on fork and pushed in appox 1" it felt like " spring tension on fork would release properly when i removed pressure from the metal rod." prior problem was no 4H or 4L, but floor shift light would light up to show 4WD. Is it possable TLA is weak? Any ideas. Thanks.
