The supply of 6x6s is almost gone.My friends in the trade let me know this a few weeks ago.I thought they would save the best till the delivery of the new series arrived.So I purchased a few.I went to the base laydown and after loading our trucks had to kill time till base officials made copys of my paperwork.There where several Hummers sitting there with #s for an upcoming sale, just to give them a look and get #s to bid on.I was then informed that those were reserved for FMS,or foreign military sale and would not be available to US citizens???I was then told that FMS will get these trucks for less than $1500 apiece buying bulk,with some FM getting them for free.I expressed my outrage and was escorted to a row of very expensive Unimogs that were GIVEN to Israel.The tags indicated that they were purchased and equipped for aprox $414 K /truck(ALL kinds of neat stuff on these ) and were donated to a FM.WTF???? So,being a poor boy,went to the stuff I normally bid on and watched a fellow with a stencil marking the rest FMS and was told they were pulled from US sales at the last minute. because they wanted what was left.What the heck is happening to this country?I pay tax's for almost my entire life and watch other walk away with MY purchases practically free,that I cannot even bid on.I have to have a background check and other BS to buy,but a FM can come here and go shopping for free.I dont get rich on these trucks.After shipping,tax,title and BS,I make less than 25% on a sale.Welcome to America.

Why raise taxes on the highest tax bracket and then pass out stimulus checks to the "poor people"?? Stealing money from people that earned it, and giving it to the lazy?? The rich already provide money to the poor in the form of the jobs they create.

When I was a Marine, we would send bullets into the forest for three days straight, then bury ammo boxes full of THOUSANDS of rounds that we just couldn't fire off fast enough so we could have the same budget for ammunition the next year. And believe me, the waste doesn't stop there. It hardly even begins there. Basically profiling and stereotyping and entire area. The gov't fought this redlining like they fight racism in the workplace with Affirmative Action. Your color, not your qualifications land you the job in today's America. What they did to fight redlining was tell the banks: "Hey banks, if you don't soften your mortgage lending practices, we are not only going to close all of your interstate branches, but we are also going to prohibit you from opening any more branches. That was option No.1. It led to predatory lending, paper speculation like Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, exotic loans, ARM's, and ultimately loans to people that they knew would lose their house when the adjustible rate soared, or the balloon payment came due... What was option No.2, you ask?? You could avoid all of this by simply making a sizable donation to Acorn...the very same Acorn Obama got his roots in. The very same Acorn that helps pimps set up brothels using your money to whore out underage girls. People say we should get out of the war because the "American Public" is bored with it!!! Tell that to the family members of the 4000 innocent civilians that were murdered nine short years ago! You think they're bored with bringing these murderers to justice?? Since you're from another country I was wondering how you guys saw America these days. Does everyone blame us for the global economy? Do you guys think we're doing a good job overseas? What do you think about Obama? Does America seem the same as it always was, or does it look like it's radically changing? Or do you guys really even pay attention to us??

I was also wondering about some good reasons to move to Canada. Does socialized medicine really work? Does the gov't ever step in and deny people medical care? How are your taxes? Does the gov't try to crush businesses in the private sector? Do they try to tax them clear out of the country, and do they try to redistribute wealth??

I have property in Tennessee, and I'm going back there soon. But I could just move to Canada instead. I've never been out of the country, and it is interesting to me. Seems like a peaceful place where no one bugs you.

I'm wondering what ChevyLover thinks about America too. He lives FAR from us. I just wonder if the world hates America as much as the Liberal news media tries to tell us they do.

Canada is a great place. Growing up I spent many summers canoeing, camping and fishing around the great north. Boundary waters, Lake Winnipeg and even went to Hudson Bay once. It is pretty sweet up there.

As to some of your questions yes we have great health care but it costs us in higher taxes(ever bought beer or liquor up here) nobody will ever be refused medical care. Ive had a couple of major operations at no cost to my wallet but paid for by a medical plan and taxes.
The only way Obama is going to have a good medical system is to make hospitals non profit and I cant see that happening.

Lenoir City, TN. I have 1.07 acres in a forest with 1584 sq ft. 3bed, 3 full bath. I'm in the middle of nowhere, and in the middle of everything...15 minutes from Maryville, 12 minutes from Lenoir City, 20 minutes from Knoxville, 30 minutes from Oakridge(where they made the bombs dropped on Japan) And you are right about that place. The people are awesome, the roads are paid for before construction even begins, and we have a billion dollars in surplus lottery money for college grants!!

But to be honest with you, I'm worried that soon we won't be able to leave. And the only way I can fight is to run for office. I've got a physical harrassment/criminal mischief<$100.00 on my record for punching a door when I was 23. I wonder if that ends my political career right off the bat?? Tell me what you think, because I have seriously considered running for office.

And, moving clear to a foreign country is kind of exciting. A buddy at work told me pretty much every where in BC is beautiful. And I've even asked the wife about moving there, and she's ready to rock. I think I'll research the place more, and go to the sites Garth J said to. If I like what I find out, I told her we'd run through there on the way back to TN, and if we liked it we would rent out the house and move to Canada!!

I like the country in Chilliwack city, and Rosedale. It's like Pagosa Springs, Durango area in Colorado. Large blue snowy mountains. We have 51 or 53 peaks over 14,000 ft! And we have the Grand Mesa. It's 11,000 feet tall, and is the biggest flat-top mountain in the world. I'm not a huge fan of the country in Yarrow. It is kind of like Tennessee.

That I could do. I have a strong background in construction, and I'm sick and tired of seeing twenty people standing around while nothing gets done. They drain all the money for a project, and then it sits there while you have to dodge cones for a year before they finally come back to do a very very poor job. Hey, Garth, I didn't know you were a truck driver. I got my A license a few months ago with TX endorsements. I figured it would be a good fall back job if this last rig stacked out.

I was looking at Chilliwack's site, and their statistics, and I was wondering something. Apparently most people who get the cops called on them don't ever get charged with anything. This site made Chilliwack look like Detroit. How is it there really??

Also, the average household income is almost double that of Lenoir City. Cost of living is small too. I'm stoked about checking this place out. I make alot of money here, but I work about 100 hours per week. I even worked 129 two rig moves ago. I like working, but I like my family too. Problem is, one can't exist very good without the other...

Anyways, unless something profoundly bad about BC comes to my attention, it's almost 100% chance we're moving there.

We had a safety meeting today after work with the two top dogs from Marathon. In the entire U.S. Marathon only has three rigs going!! Because of our performance we just got an eight hole pad added to the back of the list. That'll push work at least into the summer.

That sucks for you. We had four rigs, and three of them stacked. It's nat. gas here too. The last rig is bouncing around securing leases. So we drill a hole or two, and jump to the next location. Then I guess they're going to go back and drill remaining holes. I don't know...nothing in this field ever makes since. They waste more money than the gov't and don't even care...

By the way, my 241 DHD got here today. As well as flexplate and heat exchanger. Now I just have to make two nasty phone calls tomorrow instead of three!!

You should get your facts straight about snow out here truckdoc we hardly get any out here on the west coast. We do get a lot of rain in the winter but our summers are long and very warm I camp all year in my trailer

Silicone of any form kills the filaments in the gas detectors and chromatographs.I have a little work re-tubing and clean out's,but thats it.They are chasing the barnett shale here again,but most rigs are down.That gunpowder shale is so fine,its makin it thru the traps.7 k feet is a deep well here.They arent muddin till they are on top of the pay,so they are soapin till the bottom of the big lime.Laws are pretty lax here.

You mean to tell me there is waste, fraud, incompetence and ignorance in government. When did this happen? We in California have none of these problems. And as the third largest producer of nat gas and petrol in the US have the right to tell everyone else how they should live.

Seriously though, the only reason I stay here is that it is friggin beautiful, but also I (foolishly) believe that there is hope that the voters here will wake up some day and see that the state government is run by a bunch of crooks. That is of course assuming that the state does not become part of Mexico before that happens.
As for Pelosi, if her face cracks off and slides onto the ocean I can only hope it drags the rest of her and our two devisive unproductive senators with her.

You know...I heard carbon emissions was not able to be measured. Is that true? If it is, then how the hell are they measuring them, and then trying to offset them, or tax them.

Alot of the offsets they buy are from paper manufacturers. Those guys are replanting trees they cut down ANYWAY!! It is in their best interest so they can cut them down again and again. How can you buy that as an 'offset' when it is happening anyway?
