"performance" air cleaner assy

Hey!
Does anyone done, or have pictures of them turning the factory air cleaner assy into a "performance" high flow one? i got K&N, but i dont wanna spend $200+ on an aluminum elbow and a 20 dollar paper cone filter. any ways they gutted it or anything, so it flows just as good as aftermarket?
