My truck is running wide open now, by itself. It started out one day going down the road and the throttle just quit the truck was still ideling but no throttle. The service throttle soon light came also. so i shut the engine off then restarted it and it done fine. But now its revving up by its self which is very disturbing. Do i just need a new throttle control?

Could be the injection pump or the TPS check for codes...G

...on that 94 IS the pedal assembly...it's basically a dashpot...unplug it and you can check it with an ohmmeter...

I still havent had time to put a meter on the pedal and check it. but i did unplug it and then start the truck up thinking that it would just sit there and idle with no throttle pedal. but when unpluged it still revs wide open by itself, is this normal? I havent bought an new pedal assy. yet its kind of expensive at christmas time.

...a short at engine speed sensor{crank sensor}...unpluging tps SHOULD have defaulted to idle only from ecm...you might have a ecm/pcm problem...
