How hard is it to replace the damper on 6.5L. My engine is at 140000 miles and I know it needs a new one. Thinking of installing the fluidampr so i wont have to touch it again. Also does any one know of any good diesel machanics in the south florida area( around palm beach county)?

...talking the belt shive "balancer" or the harmonic balancer behind it?...4 bolts hold on the belt pulley assembly...1 bolt hold on harmonic balancer....to check it remove belt pulley an clean front of h.b. check it for ANY extruded rubber{for you aggies that's rubber sticking out}past the edges of metal also somewhere on the front you should find a chisel mark across both metal surfaces if these marks are still lined up and no extruded rubber then your balancer should be o.k.....if you change cause you want to that's ok preventative maintenance is a very good thing change both balancer and belt pulley togather.....fluidampr makes a good product but you won't turn enough rpms to need one...changed damper on beast at @270k...figure another 270k or so should finish off the rest of truk...jd
