I've posted this elsewhere but hoping to get a response with a new thread. Are any of you using the new grey higher heat pmd from Stanadyne and where can one be purchased?

I don't use it, but you can purchase it a your local Stanadyne dealer.
You also have to buy a new harness, due to a new connector or you have to modify the old prong (remove the side tabs with sand paper, etc.). I would buy a D-Tech, if I needed one, cauz it is MUCH cheaper the the stanadyne crap. They need more than 15 years to create the new gray one ? Sorry, but you'll get the D-Tech PMD from Pensacola Diesel from under 200 bucks -NEW !

Thanks for the help, guys. I was under the impression that the Stanadyne was better. Glad I didn't waste money to buy extra aggravation. I'll order from Pensacola Fuel Injection today. Bythe way, when I put the new pmd on the old heat sync do I need a heat transfer pad or just use heat sink grease to mount it?

The kit I got, came with PMD pad screws little packet of grease.
But I only got charged $230 for my set up.
So its gone up 40 bucks for the kit in a year and half or so not bad.

I already have a Heat Sink from SSDiesel. I ordered a new pmd, #9 resistor, and a 6 foot extension. I'm going to mount it in the bumper. I don't need special screws do I? Can't I just bolt the heat sink to the bumper hole?

I drilled new holes at the top edge of the syn, and drilled through the back of the bumper in the vent hole, and used roofing screws to secure it. Careful not to drill high and come out above the plastic behind the bumper.

If you got the PMD from where i suggested it'll have the screws needed to mount it to the heat sink . . .
Mounting it to the truck normally requires you to buy the Bolt/screws i think

OK, I was worried that I neglected to order something. The one I got from SSD was already assembled.

I've received the new pmd, #9 resistor, and 6 foot extension. I can't get to it before this weekend and the forecast is calling for snow for days :(
Does anybody have a close-up of how they bolted the heat sink in the bumper hole? Is there a way to do it so that I can access and tighten the pmd screws without taking it off the bumper?

Here is how mine is bolted in. I used self tapping screws at the top edge of the heat sync, it has to be removed to tighten the screws, but there is no vibration as it is not on the engine so they don,t come loose.

No problem, when they rust off, I'll duct tape it to the bumper, I learn a lot of mechanical tricks here.

you are gonna have to silicone a few Corona caps over them screws....

Vodka caps, they are plastic and don't rust, I have lots of them.

duct tape wont ground the heat sink very well though. Of the billions of uses for duct tape, it doenst conduct electricity very well, if at all. Dang, might be the only thing duct tape doesn't do.
The siliconing of vodca caps over the screws would be great. Multi purpose. dress up the screws a bit, and keep the moisture off the screw heads, to keep em from rustin. Better yet, JB weld the caps to the screw heads and walla, youd never need a wrench to check tightness of mounting screws. just twist the cap.
