My Dodge 5.9 lost power (a lot) all of the sudden and a weird whistle/screech type noise out of the engine compartment.I tighten intercooler boots ect and noise changed a lot but still there.I had 21K on the back thru the mountains of W.Va and knew I worked turbo hard.Pulled intercooler, pressure tested good, removed and inspected all boots ect.Got fed up and bought a turbo and slapped it on and still had the noise. So,I let it sit in the yard for a couple days as punishment.Popped hood for a second look(or 15th **#@ look actually) and found soot leaking from #6 on the exhaust manifold.$14 for the gskts. $1400 in unneeded parts and labor

I know this isn't a Cummins forum, but what kind of turbo did you put on it?

And just so you know, my brother builds pumps, injectors and turbos for a living. So if something breaks or you need an upgrade maybe let me know and I'll get him to price it for you.

I put the factory hy35 back on.They make around 30 lbs on a stock motor.I want to stay near stock.I was stubborn.I called Majestic and they told me my turbo was fine.I should have listened.

Ouch, thats a tough one to swallow. Easy enough to overlook though.
