On the Dodge trannies, they have 1/2 ID lines I think. I'm using my factory GM radiator with tranny cooler, and much smaller nipples in the cooler. Will it adversly affect my tranny heat, or will it build some kind of weird pressure and damage something by going to a smaller size?
Also, can I drill out the holes in the radiator to make them more free flowing?
And what kind of line do you guys use on these kind of projects?
Also, will over 100psi increased line pressure hold in the stock cooler?
Thanks!

The cooler lines have low pressure, not the pressure to operate the trany clutches. A short restriction in line diameter will not reduce flow a lot.

dont try drillin out the tranny cooler fittings. Aint worth ruining he radiator cause of tranny fluid gettin in the engine coolant. You would be better off just installing a bigger aftermarket add on tranny cooler and using just taht instead of the gm factory cooler.

...a place to mount a spin on filter for tranny...entire surface of filter can is an additional cooler...this is how gm/isuzu stopped jatcos from frying in isuzu med dutys....

Great idea! Thanks. I'm gonna call Performance Radiator and ask if my small fittings can be screwed out. Looks like they can. I'm also asking if the cooler can handle the increased pressures.
