Turbo Sensor A Code/ Mileage

my mileage has dropped significantly in the last couple of weeks. the SAS light is also on and threw a IP code and History DTC P0236. could this code indcate a problem that would caude a decrease in mpg?

DTC P0236 is turbocharger boost system. Check the vacuum at the waste gate at idle if not 15" or more some thing is wrong. Follow that vacuum line back to the solenoid valve on the left valve cover and check for vacuum going into the valve that should be at least 20" if not follow that back to the vacuum pump and check it there. There should be at least 20" there. If not the pump is bad. If good check for a vacuum leak in the line. If you have 20" going into the valve and less then 15" coming out going to the waste gate replace the solenoid valve. Check all the lines and hoses for cracks and leaks. If you have 15" plus at the waste gate and the rod is not pulled the can the vacuum chamber is bad, With the engine off the waste gate rod should move freely. With the waste gate not closing you will burn more fuel and make black smoke when you get on it. It should be down on power also.
