Well guys i have finally made it on here. 2 Weeks worth of waiting:rolleyes:. But anyways..... Got probs. Running hotter than i want to on egts and trans temps. Does anyone know what the stock tranny cooler is rated for? I hit about 240-250 degrees on tranny temp gauge the other day pullin my dump trailer after work. Egt hit up to about 1200 preturbo till i let out of it. Got to get these temps down. I tow about 13,000 on top of a loaded truck. So around 22-23,000 lbs total and that is in the mountains of tn and ky(i know it ain't the rockies but tell that to my truck:cool:).Thinkin of puttin in a new tranny cooler and aux filter. Still thinkin about my egt troubles though. I was at about 13 psi consistent on boost but it started to fall at higher rpms so i built my own waste gate controller. maybe a little more psi to lower the egt down some. Well heres to hope and dreams:D

If your towin all the time, get an aftermarket tranny cooler and ADD it inline with your stock cooler. Get one rated for your gvwr taht your runnin. Under $50 at napa for a big hayden cooler, and it comes with 6 or 8 ft of tranny hose.

You'd have to run alot more psi to do that. I wouldn't even look at that route if I were you, because more psi is going to equal more problems. Do you want to "get out of it", or "get towed out of it"?

Definetly get the tranny cooler upgrade. You could always add a water/meth system, and hit it on the long grades. That'll cool your EGT down 3 or 400*. Then you can keep the pedal to the metal all you want. I'd look into intercoolers if I were you. A 93' Dodge one will fit in your truck just fine. My brother is pushing 1200lbs torque with that little guy. And I've got the 2nd gen big intercooler for you if you want to get out the sawzall blades and make your rad support cry a little. 200.00!

well today was better, lower egts, lower tranny temps too and only had a 800lb less load than the last time. now new problem had showed its head.it started after i installed the new ecm. my boost will jump up to about 16-17 psi and my ecm will kill my fuel, not limp mode but just kill it enough to lower my boost down like you turned the key off then on. kickin a code too. cant remember it exactly but i believe it said boost sensor input high. got it wrote down in the truck. this was still with regular vaccum wastegate. changed the wastegate controller to my homemade design and won't trip the comp if you keep it at 15 psi. but at 15 psi i was only hitting about 950-1000 egts trough the same hills.:D yes i do have the boost fooler design ready when i get around to it:)
