Can anyone explain exactly what needs to be removed from the front of the vehicle/engine to gain access to the turbo oil feed line where it attaches down on the front of the motor? The manuals that I have just say to remove the line. They do not go into any detail – big help. I have tried to gain access by just following the line, but could not get to it. Could you list in order what needs to come off and also if any special tools or procedures are needed? I need to evaluate whether I can do this or need to farm it out. I’m having a really bad time with my lower back, I’m practically useless. I want to do it myself to save money, but I can’t afford to hurt my back again.

Thanks for the help,

Chip

...know about that 98 but all of 6.5s I've seen oil feed line is behind a/c mount...return goes to block in location where mechanical fuel pump use to be located...jd

Disconnect the battery grounds then remove the drivers side battery then remove the inner fender and you can access the oil line ..the job looks worse than it is ...G

I changed mine once, and didnt have to remove a thing. Mines a 93 though. think i used a longer than average(longer than cheap brands and crapsman) Snap-On open end wrench. Went between fan blades. Only had to turn it slightly to loosen, then unscrewed with fingers. Good luck.
