Patients, patients and small hands.
If its anything like my 95,
--theres an L bracket on the back end of the stater (towards the radiator) it is gonna be eaiser to take the bolt out that holds the L Bracket to the block, go throught the fender. and take this part off last- when you go to put it on, put the L bracket on the starter, leaving the nut loose, and then stab the bolt throught the fender, and tighten the whole thing up.
-- also the wires are the last thing to come off, and the first thing back on. Chevy desided to put starter on the same side as the turbo for some reason.
and visit your local chevy dealer- the parts department anyway (if your gonna buy there, bring your saw, its gonna make it easier for them to get your arm and leg) but they'll give you a print out of how it mounts to the motor, it cleared alot up for me.

...bolt mount like all v8 gms forever with the exception of housing bracket to block...leave brkt on starter,,,pull back rubber splash gard behind right front wheel and go for it easy access to wiring and brkt mounting bolt...starter should drop and hit you in face...unless you have HD then you might have to wiggle it past exhaust and suspension...jd
