Got a 93 4x4 burb with a 6.5. I want to buy a 28ft inclosed trailer and will load it prolly close to 4000 pounds of razr's and rhino with all are riding gear and tools. Question is will it pull it? I am rebuildint the motor withlower comp. pistons and girdles and an hx35 turbo with 18psi. To get everything in this is the smallest trailer that will fit it so can't buy anything smaller. And it has to be an enclosed cuz we will sleep in it to. Thanks ahead of time for the thoughts.

I think the trailer is around 3500lbs

well with my k3500 i've been towing upwards of 12k and that was only with the #9 resistor.
I believe the motor will pull it if the rest of the truck can handle it. is it a 1500 or 2500 burb. If it was the 2500 burb i'd say most likely no problem. What type of tranny is it running?

I have just pulled a 6,500 pound trailer from LA to here with the suburban, 1000 miles lots of hills. It did OK, but tiring drive with that weight, would have liked to have trailer brakes.

Its a 2500 with a 4l80e. Pretty much all it will be pulled is 700 mile round trips three of four times a year. The one I want has breaks on both axle. Forgot to say the burb is sittin on 35" tires but its geared with 4.56's. So that will kill it a litlle bit.

I pull 13,000 (loaded trailer) around (20 mile trips) no problem at all. Longer trips heaviest is towed is around 10,000 (loaded trailer) No trouble pulling. Do run over a few hills, but nutin like se ohio, or kentucky.

Sweet thanks. From what y'all say I should be ok. The only hilly part is towards the end of the trip. its only like 60 miles with hills. I think if I baby it for the hills ill be good. Thanks for the info guys.

...weighs 11500lbs...yes I weighed it after I mounted the compressor have some more toolboxes so I need to reweigh{dot cops stop everything down here in TEXAS}but I'm sure it probably weighs more than your burb with trailer attached...I wouldn't worry about power issues as much as stability with tall rubber and low box trailer...

i have had nothing but a 3" straghtpipe done to my truck and have pulled over 20,000 lbs on a few occasions. . . you figure 18 cows all between 900 and 1200lbs, all in a full steel with 3" rubber floor 35' gooseneck, easily over 20k. . . 7 cords of wood on a 28 ft 3 axle gooseneck, thats about 15,000. . . 35' gooseneck with 5 derby cars. . .thats too much lol. . . these can pull just fine, stock dont plan on passing anyone with 20k behind you. . . but i passed a few people pulling a 12k camper 50 miles from my uncle's to the county fair. . . it does just fine :) i love these old idi diesels :D
