I am thinking about upgrading to the 80 hp computer from ssd and am wondering what kind of change in fuel economy others who have gotten it have seen. how much did it change the power of your truck? I currently have the intake and injectors done and will soon be doing the exhaust but would like to know a little about the computer before i get it.

I ran my 2000 K3500srw for about a month with just the exhaust and intake upgrade and picked up about 2 mpg and it woke the truck up on the performance end. When I installed the 80 hp PCM wow!!! the truck really woke up (lets go Power Joke hunting) the only thing is I lost my 2mpg. I get about 17mpg on the highway,at about 70mph. I know the thing that is not helping is the 4.10 gears. On my wife's 99 K1500 Burb with a 40hp BD PCM It woke it up pretty good(not like the 80) and picked up 2 mpg. I am waiting for the exhaust to rot off so I put the 4" on it then I should see about 20/21 mpg. What helps me on this one is the 3.42 gears. I talked with Walt about the mileage( e mail ) and he recommends if you want mileage go with the 40 hp PCM. That's my 2 cents worth!!
