:cool: i'm taking the intake manifold off my 94 6.5 turbo to get to the filter assembly, i noticed in the guide book that the bolts have to be torqued when reinstalled, something like 50ft lbs, is this true?
also can a starter from a 1998 6.5 turbo fit a 1994 6.5 turbo.
is it possable to swap out injector pumps from the 98 to the 94?

Here is the torque spec and procedure (attached). It is only 30ft lbs, I think 50 would be a bit much.

Yes, the starter will work on both 98 and 94 diesels.

The injection pump may fit. Check out SSDiesels page on it for sure, you have to check the model on the 94 to make sure. Here is the page;

I have an injection pump off from a 2003 H1 hummer on my truck, it was wrecked at the dealership, never made it off the lot. Put it on in 2004, worked great.

Oh, and why are you taking the intake off? You don't need to to get the filter assembly out, it's just the top two bolts, a few fuel lines, and a couple wires.

If the 94 has a DS4 5068 pump, nothing else will work, if it has any other number, all other models will be OK. Only early 94 has the bastard IP.

Thanks for the support, Grant. The truck's running well except for the shot vac pump. BIP seems to be doing it's job. Cheers.
