The body on my '94 Suburban 6.5 is in great shape but the chassis is rusty and getting nasty. Is it too far fetched to think about buying a donor vehicle and swapping this body onto that chassis? Suburban only has 95k, runs great, clean interior and new paint?

...frame rust is ONLY cosmetic and NOT otherwise a problem, then your best bet would be to raise the body and blast and repaint/seal the frame...only half the work of frame/body swap and your numbers' still match...jd

How difficult is it to raise a Suburban body off the frame? I have the equipment, 4-post lift, fork truck etc..

Don't know where you are but another option is buy an old burban and swap the drive train. That is if you live in a state where that is doable emissions wise. I see a ton of burbans out here in CA that are rust free and cheap on craigslist. Mine had 250,000 miles on it when I bought it and hadn't been washed in years but has nothing but surface rust on frame and nothing on body.

...borrow your lift? pull the front clip...disconnect and remove the core support with everything still attached to it,i.e.:radiator,a/c condensor core, etc. if it has rear air and the a/c lines are attached to the body then unhook them at firewall, unplug elec.bulkhead connectors...disconnect anything else that attaches to body and chassiss{brake master cylinder, etc.}disconnect body mounts and pick up body with 2post lift and roll chassiss out for further service...have fun...jd oh,the reason I wanted your lift is that I have to put a starter on my nephews firebird later today, talk about a low slung car...

Thanks, I'll post some pix when we get started lifting the body off.
