hey anyone no anything bout abs the lite stayes on in my wifes monty carlo sometimes going off brakes would work then stop working lite came on stayed on i checked the pigtail on passengers side found broken wire replaced pigtail lite still on i have checked all fuses and elect is there something else i am missing or do i have to reset it some how.im lost

...model/engine/etc.? generaly speaking when the ABS lite is ON the ABS system is OFF...all this means is that in a panic stop you CAN lock-up the brakes...if you have put front pads on this or any vehicle and you collapsed the pistons and forced the fluid BACK into the system instead of opening the bleed screw and bleeding it outside the system, then you most likely jammed a check valve in the ABS computor/controller...which means you need a new/good used unit...I have seen this more when ABS first came out on everything, but still sometimes run into it with money tight and people trying to do their own maintenence...always.always.always bleed calipers out!!! don't force the fluid back into the system!! you WILL damage the ABS computor/controller...this may not be your problem...please post yr/engine/etc. and we'll or I'll try to help...jd
