I'm guessing there isn't an easy place to thread the oil temperature sender into on these engines ?
The send has rubberized plug in's i was kicking around the idea of installing right into the the oil drain plug hole . . .
I remember seeing a few car's in the past with a sensor of some kind located the same way you unplugged it spun it out with a wrench to change the oil  would this work on the 6.5er as well ?

If I were you I'd put the gauge in in the drain hole with a quick drain to make it easy to change the oil if it doesn't hang down too far.
Otherwise if you want to do it right pull the oil pan off, check the bearings, and weld a sensor plug into the oil pan. Be careful with this avenue, I got good at welding bungs into thin wall tubing with buss's, but most will just get leaks like my coworkers that didn't do it as often.

 Pull the pan
what size is the oil drain thread hole ?
The sender is 1/8" NPT . . .

so any idea on the size and thread for the oil drain plug for a 95' 6.5-T ?

It is fine thread and much larger than 1/8 npt, so you could look for an adapter or drill and tap the drain plug. Have you considered a T in the oil cooling system.

I have thought about tapping into the cooling system but I feel it has a higher risk for leakage and or failure/rupture point.
So I would rather drill and tap into the drain plug or adapted to the drain hole instead.
Drilling and tapping into the drain plug is ideal.
