I got a 1995 Yukon with a 6.5. The motor is a reman with about 10,000 miles on it. Runs great, no problems at all except it cranks and cranks till the batteries go dead when the motor is warm. Has new glow plugs, glow plug controller, ss diesel glow plug over ride kit, ss 4inch exhaust. if it does start it runs great, on skipping no nothing. What and where do I start to look for this problem?

Put ice on the PMD, if not the problem, put some on the fuel shut off solenoid. They become heat sensitive when failing.

Bottle of water poured over the injection pump might give you an idea of the problem. Seems to be happening to a lot of people right now. If it works I think they have been saying the only way to fix it is to replace the injection pump. Look around at recent threads it has been going around and in one of them they explain why.

How old are your batts? and how bout battery connection, (good, clean tight?) I had a batt drop on me in the summer and caused a hard /no start when hot a few years ago. If sure batts are good try dumpin a gpood amount of cool water over the fuel delivery head of the pump. If the water over the delivery head makes your truck start up, you need a new ip. (delvery head is where the injector lines are attached). If it doenst help,. try dumpin water over fuel shutoff solenoid, or hold a few ice cubes around it (tall round lookin thing stickin up from front top if ip, i think on your truck?) if this makes truck start right up, then you probly just need a new fuel shut off solenoid. Good luck
