Well I greatly regret wasteing my $7000 buying this truck. Its been nothing but a headach sence a month after I bought it. The throttle pedal wasnt the problem with the ON or OFF throttle. It still is either accelerating or coasting. There is no grey area. When its accelerating its dumping HUGE amounts of black smoke still. And it idles rough when I start it for the first time in the morning cold. I never get an engine light other than when I first turn the key on. I have no clue what is wrong with this thing and as of right now I dont have the money to pay someone to diagnose it. If this thing would run right for 30 mins Id trade it in, in a heartbeat. Im VERY frustrated with this thing and sick of it already...... If anyone has any info Id greatly appriciate it. Thanks

May be 2 different problems. The cold start rough running could be glow plugs. The black smoke when accelerating could be no boost. Check the vacuum line going to the wastegate on the turbo. Or have someone fire it up while you are looking at the rod and make sure it moves.

Well i can hear my turbo spool up when i give it moderate amounts of throttle. If that really tells u anything I dont know. Ill check the waste gate in the morning. The glow plugs could very well be bad. Thanks for the info.

Where are you located? I'll buy it. :p
Your full throttle / no throttle issue is likely a problem with the IP.
Your black smoke problem is most definitely a problem with the wastegate operation on the turbo. Easy to fix.
Your rough idle at cold start is quite typical of a diesel with a few poor glow plugs. Also easy to fix.
PM me if you want some additional direction.

it may be worth putting a scanner on it to see if there are any codes in the computer. Frankly, I've known people who have traded in vehicles at a used car dealer and removed the Check Engine bulb on the dash so that it looks like it's running right, but once they put a scanner in it, there are a bunch of problems. Just a thought....
