Where is the VSS?

I have a 92 3/4 T Chevy with the 6.5 turbo diesel
I lost all forward gears except 1st. My transmission guy tells me it's the VSSS.
So I picked one up at Autozone but cam't find where it goes.
I've looked on the tranny, behind the dash and behind the glove box
no luck. Anyone know where chevy stuck it?

The VSS should be in the out put shaft of the transmission or the transfer case. It measures the speed of the of the drive shaft rotation. do your self a favor and get one from GM I would not be surprised if Auto Zone sold you the wrong part plus OEM ones work right.
