Hi there.
I picked up a '93 3500 dually recently with the 6.5 TD & 4L80E tranny. Engine seems to run fine, i think i need glow plugs 'cause it sounds like a lawn mower when it starts up for about 20 seconds. Also after about 15 minutes on the highway w/o trailer it loses 4th gear & the converter stops locking up but will run in 3rd ok. I got all new sensors & solinoids for the tranny, figured i would start with that and then see what it does. Guy i got it from said the tranny was rebuilt about 14 months ago with a 12 month warrenty and started doing that about a month out of warrenty. I've been wrenching on GM cars & 1/2 ton trucks for about 25 years but this is my first experience with a TD. Just thought i'd tell ya'll what i had and say HI.
